All Somerset libraries, including our own library in Castle Cary, will be closing because of the Coronavirus epidemic at the end of the today (18 March 2020) until further notice.
Here is an update on our first six months of existence. Our plan of course is to keep on getting better!
COME and PLAY CHRISTMAS MUSIC WITH A SCRATCH BAND at the Library for Castle Cary BIG CHRISTMAS
If you, your family or friends play an instrument, do join us for some festive musical fun at the Library for Castle Cary Big Christmas Thursday 5th December at 7.00pm.

Call in to see us at the Library – we have recently received a large number of large print books (both fiction and non-fiction) to add to our shelves and also a new selection of DVDs.
Don’t forget that we have a used book table at the Moat Garden and EatCary Coffee Morning at the Market House, Castle Cary from 9.30 to 12.00 on Saturday 12th October. Do come along and bring your friends.
A date for your diary
We plan to repeat our highly successful ‘Bookstop’ stall at Castle Cary BIG CHRISTMAS on Thursday 5th December. More information in a couple of weeks.
The Library is a Registered Charity called the “Friends of Castle Cary Community Library” which is governed by its Trustees. The Trustees are accountable to the membership, (the “Friends”) at an annual general meeting. At present there are five Trustees, Roger Weldhen (Chairman), Les Kimberley, Laura Tilling, Janice Collins and Judi Morison.
This year’s Summer Reading Challenge is Space Chase; a space themed adventure inspired by the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing. Children taking part in the Challenge will help our super space family, The Rockets, as they track down books nabbed by mischievous aliens!

Hurrah! Castle Cary Library is now under the management of the Friends of Castle Cary Community Library (FCCCL). Happy faces celebrate the opening which took place on Tuesday 2nd of April. Come and see us! You are assured of a friendly welcome.
We open as a Community Library on Tuesday 2nd April at 10:00am.
