Public Network Computer
The public computer is now available at all hours when the library is open; Pre-booking not necessary, but is advisable.
Membership
Membership of Castle Cary Community Library gives you access to books and so much more. You will also have access through Libraries West and RBdigital to books and magazines for offline reading. Free internet is available in the library.
Joining the library could not be easier. Call in and use our services straightaway after completing a registration form. You will be provided with an exclusive pin number enabling you to borrow books from thirty two libraries and to access digital services.
Borrowing and Renewing Books
You can of course come into the library and browse the collection of books on the shelves, but by accessing online services through Libraries West it is possible to do so much more.

LibrariesWest is a partnership of seven public library services in the south west of England. The services work together to share costs and offer enhanced services to customers. Dorset and Poole have joined existing members Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset, Somerset and South Gloucestershire, resulting in a ‘coast to coast’ service.
Electronic Resources
LibrariesWest provides a single shared E Book service, provided by cloudLibrary. It’s free to use with a membership card from any LibrariesWest authority.
Free to use. Check out up to 5 E Audio Books at a time. Borrow E Audio Books for up to 14 days – and return them early or renew
From now on, as well as the eMagazines and eComics we provide, you will also be able to use RBdigital to access 1,000’s of digital Newspaper titles.
If you access RBdigital via the web page, click on the link below and login to RBdigital, with your existing user name and password: https://somersetcc.rbdigitalglobal.com/
If you access RBdigital via the app, please log out of the RBdigital app on your device, then select ‘Login’ and follow the instructions: your username and password are still the same. When you enter your existing user name you’ll see a list of library options: just select ‘Somerset County Council’ and enter your password.
